James C."Jim" Silva Jr., 62, of Acushnet, passed away New Years morning in the company of his long time friend, Shelley Mello.

Born in Newport, RI., the son of Theresa Bergeron and the late James Carl Silva Sr.

He is survived by his son, Jason James Silva, his son's fiancee Jennifer Dehmlow, and his grandson, Roman Dehmlow of Augusta Me. He also leaves behind his mother, Theresa Bergeron, sister Jaime Lavoie, brother Robert Lavoie, nephews Robert and Eric Lavoie, as well as grandnephews and grandnieces.

Jim was a black belt in Uechiryu Karate Do. His past employers were Wal-Mart, Brittany Dye and Printing, and Sid Warner. He enjoyed frequenting, J.T.'s Pub, the former Gene's Cafe, and the Tavern.

Any donations can be made to the American Lung Society in his memory.

Jim we had sooo many great memories that I will treasure for ever. I am soo sorry yoyr family had to loose you at such a young age.. FRIENDS TO THE END...Love You !!!!!!!!!!!

Jim I'm going to miss you so much, you truely were a great guy. It's sad to see you go but I'm glad you no longer are in pain. I'm glad you got your final wishes and got to pass in your home with my mom by your side. I love you Jim and miss you so much. R.I.P

Dad, I cant even express the words to say how much I love and miss you. Im glad to be your son and will carry on your legacy with pride. Im even getting teary eyed typing this. I had a great oppertunity to work with you and have fun with you as well. I miss you so much and I hope you have a toast for me up there as I will have a toast down here for you. To Jim's Family.So deeply sorry for your loss.I worked with Jim at Wal-Mart and got to know him quite well. He was a great guy with a wonderful sense of humor.Rest in Peace Jim.I'll miss our talks.

"Uncle Jimmy"- God called for you too soon. You were a great friend and will be sorely missed by many of us. Whether on the clock or just hanging with the guys, you touched us all. Close as family but always a friend, we miss you Jim. God bless you and rest in peace.
