Albert Dutra Medeiros, Jr. 83 of New Bedford passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Jewish Convalescent Home, in New Bedford.
He was the beloved husband of Nicole B. (Trommenschlager) Medeiros.
Born in New Bedford he was the son of the late Albert Dutra Medeiros and Mary Pereira.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Michelle Letts and her husband Joseph of Fairhaven and predeceased by his son the late Albert M. Medeiros. The brother of Edward L. Medeiros and his wife Lorraine of New Bedford. Albert was also the proud grandfather of his six grandchildren; Chad LaBelle, Scott LaBelle, Alex Miller, Veronica Miller, Samantha Miller and Benjamin Miller and his three great grandchildren; Addison LaBelle, Grady LaBelle and Ayla LaBelle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Albert served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked for years as a propane service man for Amerigas. He lived his entire life in New Bedford. He belonged to a jazz band, The Down Beats where he played the trumpet and liked to sing. He also was in a Marine Band. He loved to go on cruises, play cards, do crossword puzzles and to occasionally visit Foxwoods. Albert was certainly a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also had a soft spot for animals and loved his dog, Skoshi.

Calling hours to which relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend, will be on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm with a Funeral Service at 7:30 pm, which will be held at South Coast Chapel Mortuary, 158 Middleboro Road (Rt. 18) East Freetown, Ma. 02717
