Audrey Bergeron Obituary

On April 9, 2015 we lost our beloved mum Audrey C. Bergeron (Walker) of E. Freetown. She died at home after a long illness. Born June 12, 1926 in London, England to Winifred and Harry Walker. She was the wife of the late Norman G. Bergeron (deceased May of 2012). They were married for 62 years.

She was raised in London, England and came to this country after World War II in 1947 where she met Norman. Audrey worked for New England Telephone Company for thirty years. She was a union steward for IBEW, and member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She volunteered for Freetown's Seniors Share program and attended Fairhaven Social Day Care program where she took pleasure in the company of her many friends and aquaintances. She enjoyed traveling, long rides to Maine and New Hampshire, Bingo as well as scratching a lottery ticket or two. Mum loved her family unconditionally and enjoyed their visits. She will be a tremendous void in our lives. Tonight and hereafter the sky will be beaming brightly with a new star.

Survivors include her children, Ingrid Harrington and her husband William Francis of Fairhaven, Valerie Bergeron, partner Meg Goslin of E. Freetown, Conrad Bergeron, fiancee Maria Medeiros of New Bedford, Mark Bergeron, wife Kathleen of N. Dartmouth, five grandchildren: Stephanie Simmons; Chad Bergeron; Kara Bergeron; Joyelle Benevides; Jonathan Bergeron; for adorable great-grandchildren Nathan and Gabrielle Benevides; Sabrina and Arianna Bergeron. As well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Olive Righetti; Valli Kieznowski; and Robert Walker.

Audrey spent her final years at home under the exceptional care of her daughter, Valerie. The family extends their sincere thanks and appreciation to godchild Giselle Guilbert; nurse Kim Jerome; CNA Michelle Resendes for their dedication in the care of our mum.
