Barbara Pittsley Obituary
Barbara Elizabeth (Westgate) Pittsley 84, died peacefully at her home in East Freetown on May 26, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Nelson Pittsley.
Barbara was born on August 4, 1935 to the late Chester Westgate and the late Alice Westgate in Acushnet, Ma.
Barbara is survived by her children; her son, Michael Pittsley and his wife Sharon of Fairhaven and her daughter; Beverly Lord and her husband Paul of East Freetown. Her brother; David Westgate, Sr. of Lakeville, her sisters; Violet Sylvia of Fall River, Patricia Reynolds of New Bedford, Judith Westgate also on New Bedford and the late Evelyn Westgate. She was the proud grandmother of her six grandchildren; Michael Pittsley, Jr., and Delia from Bourne, Joshua Pittsley and Erica from New Bedford, Amanda Johnston from California, Paul Lord, Jr. and Samantha from New Bedford, Brad Lord and Ashley from East Freetown, and Brian Lord and Sarah also from East Freetown. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews
She worked as a supervisor at Alberox in New Bedford, Ma for many years.
On May 26, 1953 she married Nelson Pittsley and enjoyed a wonderful life together. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her children, their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Everyone that knew her loved her. She was a kind, caring and giving person. She will be missed by everone that loved her.
A celebration of life will be held on June 14, 2020 at 74 County Road, East Freetown, Ma 02717 from 1pm to 5 pm. All are welcome to attend.
