Bernardino Costa, Jr.

Bernardino Costa Jr. 78, of New Bedford passed away on Tuesday April 19, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford.

Born in New Bedford he was the son of the late Bernardino Costa, Sr and Lena (Arruda) Costa.

He was the loving father of his children; Kenneth Costa, Sr. and his wife Deb Champagne of New Hampshire, Dennis James Costa and his wife Dawn Costa of East Taunton and Barbara Gail (Costa) Freeman and her husband Tim of Virginia.

Mr. Costa was also the proud grandfather of his grandchildren; Kenneth Costa, Jr, Taylor Paige Costa, Scott John Costa, Holly Ann Costa, Lucas James Costa and Michelle Lynne Bullard. Bernardino is survived by his siblings, a brother, Donald Costa of N. Carolina and his two sisters, Rosalin Fox of Rhode Island and Lola Santos of Acushnet. He is predeceased by two siblings, his late brother Kenneth Costa and his late sister, Dolores McMillen.

Bernardino was a veteran and he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked for years as a foreman at Chamberlain Manufacturing in the Artillery Division. Bernardino was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many a day fishing off the Canal down the Cape with his children for tataug and he was also a big movie buff. 

Burial with Military Honors in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be planned for a later date.
