Carol Boucher Obituary

On April 13, 2025, Carol Ann Boucher, a true angel among us, passed from this world into the next. She was the daughter of the late Francisco P. “Curly” and Frances Correia. While shattered by her loss, those of us in her family, and that includes many close friends, can count ourselves lucky to have loved her and been loved by her during a life that was cut far too short. Carol was raised from birth in Acushnet, attended St. Francis and Acushnet elementary schools and middle school, graduated from NBHS and later earned her Associate’s Degree as a Medical Assistant from Fisher Junior College. It was at NBHS that she met her future husband and true soulmate Mark, and the two would go on to marry and raise a beautiful family over the next nearly 45 years. She would spend time as a manager of two medical clinics in both Dartmouth and Fairhaven, while caring for their first-born daughter Alyssa. Upon the birth of their second child, Lauren, she made the difficult decision to put her career aside and devote herself full-time to being a Mom. Another daughter, Melanie, and a son, Matthew, would follow soon after. Later on, Carol pursued and received her certification as a CNA, continuing to provide care for her family, numerous clients, and eventually her elderly parents, all with the same compassion and respect that was a natural part of her sweet and gentle nature. It was during this time that she was initially diagnosed, which began her 13 year-long battle, while still giving so much of herself to those around her. Carol never gave up despite being exhausted by all the treatments, side effects, and mental strain, but the monster ultimately won, and she is finally able to rest at last in a place with no more suffering. Carol is survived by her loving family – her husband Mark, her daughters Alyssa and Lauren of East Freetown, her daughter Melanie of Taunton, and her son Matthew of East Freetown; Two sisters, Donna Marshall and her husband Robert, and Patricia Sorelle and her husband Paul, all of East Freetown, along with several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at a future date to be determined, and the family is requesting, in lieu of flowers, that a donation be made in Carol’s memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at her memorial Giving Page.
