Carolyn Gates Obituary
Carolyn A. (Cree) Gates 88, of Acushnet passed away peacefully on Friday May 31, 2019 at the Oaks in New Bedford.
She was the loving wife of the late Donald Gates.
Born in New Bedford, Ma she was the daughter of the late James Cree and the late Ruth (Norwood) Cree.
She is survived by her children; Mark Gates and his wife Jeanie of Marion and Donna Phillips of Acushnet. Carolyn was predeceased by her children; the late Thomas Gates and the late Cathy Pimentel. Carolyn is survived by her sister Janice Gurney and her husband Ralph of Fairhaven and she is predeceased by her other siblings; the late Donald Cree and the late Douglas Cree. Carolyn was also the proud grandmother of her 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was a avid horse woman and she last rode at 75 years old. She enjoyed riding in Parades and going on trail rides. She loved her dogs too and she used to like to knit, in her younger days.
Her wake to which family and friends are respectfully invited to attend will be on Monday June 3, 2019 from 4pm to 7pm, to be held at South Coast Chapel Mortuary, 158 Middleboro Rd. (RT 18) East Freetown, Ma 02717
