Dana A.Tipple 50, of Newport, RI, passed away, after a long illness, on Sunday June 7, 2015 at the Heatherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newport, Rhode Island.
He was the beloved son of the late Donald Tipple and Dorothy (Tucker) Tipple. He is survived by his brother, Daniel and his wife Terrie Tipple and his two nephews, Marcus Geoffrey and Mathew Thomas Tipple all of Pawcatuck, CT. He also leaves behind an aunt, Jeannie E. Dutcher of North Scituate, RI and an uncle Kenneth V.R. Tipple of West Warwick, RI. Dana is also survived by his caretaker and friend Ernest Cinq/Mars, of Wakefield, RI; a step sister, Lisa Kardys of Preston, CT and his step mother, Marge (Tipple) Wallace of Canada who often was by Dana's side when he needed it the most.
He was a unique individual who enjoyed the little things in life. Dana was quite the night owl who enjoyed Classic Rock Music and he could often be found jammin out to one of his favorite bands, "Heart" which he had the opportunity to attend numerous concerts. He enjoyed long walks on the beach with his metal detector, and oh how he loved collecting things.
Dana would make friends instantly where ever his travels took him. He was very artistic and loved to decorate meticulously his surroundings........He had quite the creativity and ability, the flair if you will, for turning trash into his treasures.
Dana will always be known as being the ring leader of the notorious Hillside gang of Ledyard.
His memorial service will be held this summer, at a later date, probably in Colorado.
