David K. Lassiter, Sr.

David K. Lassiter Sr. 71, of East Freetown, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 peacefully at home.

Born in New Bedford he was the son of the late Lewis J. Lassiter and Patricia (Chapman) Gifford.

David is survived by his long time companion, best friend and caretaker, Lorna M. Correia of East Freetown.

David was the father of his sons, The late Dwayne K. Lassiter and David K. Lassiter, Jr. of Fairhaven. David is also survived by his brother Michael Lassiter of Fairhaven and his sister, Judy Syre also of Fairhaven. He was also the grandfather of 6 grandchildren and 3 great granchildren.David also leaves behind his two nephews, who were like sons to him and they called him POP. Michael Enos of Florida and Matt Enos of Fairhaven.

David worked for years as a truck driver for Carvosa Trucking down the Cape. He also served his country proudly in the United States Army and was a veteran serving during Vietnam. David was an avid bowler and bowled at the Wonderbowl in New Bedford for 40 years.

He loved hunting and fishing and oh, how he loved his dogs.

David will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
