David Leite, 42, of Berkley, passed away, December 17th, in his home, surrounded by his family, after a long battle with cancer.
Beloved husband of Bonnie Leite and proud, devoted father to Kaylie Lynn, 19, Kyan David, 14, Gavin Nathaniel, 12, and Gabriel David, 10. Dave is survived by his mother, Carmelita Leite of Taunton, a brother Anthony Leite, three sisters Odilia Couto and husband Filipe, Mary Lou Rezendes and husband John, and Mary Joe Morgado and husband Mario, all of Taunton. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
David spent over 20 years caring for others, right up until his illness. He worked as a nurse in several long term care facilities for many years, where his extensive medical knowledge, along with his strong nursing skills and intuition was highly respected by both his coworkers and supervisors. David's time nursing at the Judge Rotenberg Center was the happiest time of his career. He absolutely loved working with the special needs students and truly enjoyed psychiatric nursing.
David's favorite hobby was maintaining his large salt water reef tank. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and was always happy to offer help to others.
Calling hours to which family and friends are respectfully invited to attend will be on Monday, December 22, 2014 from 4pm to 7pm at mfsc llc South Coast Chapel, 158 Middleboro Road, East Freetown, Ma. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, December 23, at 10:00 am, also at mfcs llc South Coast Chapel. Burial will be private.
