Demi Brooke Costa

Demi Brooke Costa, age 3, of Berkley, MA passed away at Boston Children’s Hospital on January 13th, 2025.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our daughter Demi Brooke Costa. Our beautiful, loving, strong-minded and determined daughter, passed away on January 13th, 2025 at the age of 3. Demi was born on July 20th, 2021 at St. Lukes Hospital in New Bedford, MA.  Demi was the beloved daughter of Jonathan & Kelli Costa, and the cherished sister of Parker Costa. Demi loved singing, dancing, playing with her brother Parker and doing everything that he did. She loved Cocomelon, Bluey and her stuffed dog Poopy. She was known for her sassy, fiery, funny, larger than life personality. She had a fierce independence with the ability to face life’s challenges head-on. Her legacy of strength and perseverance will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Demi battled a rare genetic disease called APLAID.  She recently underwent a bone marrow transplant that went better than anyone could have imagined.  Following her transplant, she unfortunately contracted adenovirus coupled with pneumonia.  Her immune system was not strong enough to battle the virus and she passed away due to respiratory failure.

Demi is survived by her parents, Jonathan and Kelli Costa, her loving brother Parker Costa, her grandmothers, Colette Costa and Helen Medeiros and many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her dearly.

Demi’s wake will be held on Friday, January 17th from 4:00PM–7:00PM at Southcoast Chapel Mortuary, 158 Middleboro Rd., East Freetown, MA 02717.

The Funeral will be held on Saturday January 18th AT 11AM, at St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Rd, East Freetown, MA 02717. Those wishing to attend are asked to go directly to the church.
