Donna Marie (Avila) Hardy

Donna M. Hardy 63, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 27, 2017 at her home.

She was the beloved wife of the late Henry A. Hardy.

Born In New Bedford she was the daughter of Winona Elizabeth (Chase) Avila and the late Donald Russell Avila.

Donna is survived by her loving children; three sons; Henry A. Hardy, Jr and his girlfriend Cherish of New Bedford, Donald R. Hardy, Jr. and his wife Stacy of Acushnet, Nico A. Hardy and his fiancee Kayla of New Bedford, and three daughters; Torrea A. Hardy and her boyfriend Jason also of New Bedford, Brandy M. Araujo and her husband Nelson of South Dartmouth, and Amy Lynn Hardy and her husband Chad also of New Bedford. Donna as well leaves behind her siblings; two brothers; the late Donald Russell Avila, Jr. and William R. Avila of New Bedford and four sisters; her twin sister, Debra Housewright of New Bedford, Sandra Neville and her husband Jim also of New Bedford,  the late Brenda G. Avila-Reedy and Cindy Avila and her boyfriend Mike of Fairhaven. Donna was also the proud grandmother to her 15 grandchildren and her 5 great grandchildren.

Donna worked for years as a CNA, as she liked to take care of people, she was a very caring, compassionate and a very nice person. She enjoyed playing poker on Saturdays, Bingo, and country music, but she especially loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend her wake on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm, to be held at South Coast Chapel Mortuary, 158 Middleboro Road, (Rt 18) East Freetown, Ma 02717. Burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be given to her family.
