Edward Carlos DeMello

Edward C. DeMello 62, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, January 9,2019.

Ed was the son of the late Humberto and Deolinda DeMello of Dartmouth, MA born in New Bedford, MA, Ed grew up in Dartmouth, MA He attended Dean College and graduated from UMass Amherst. Ed (Digger) DeMello was an avid, New England sports fan. He coached basketball at Dean College in Franklin, MA for 6 years. Ed also coached high school basketball. Most recently, Ed helped coach youth recreational basketball. He was employed as a director of various New England YMCA's for 15 years, until he became a driver for Frito Lay, a member of the Teamsters Union, and a snack salesman.

Ed is the youngest brother of the late Albert DeMello of Florida, John DeMello of California and the late Juliet Moreira of Dartmouth, MA and Humberto DeMello of Florida.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews whom he loved very much.
