Edward Dunham Macomber

It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Edward D. Macomber age 79, who passed on May 13, 2016.

Born in New Bedford, MA, he was the son of the late Russell and Marjory Macomber.

Beloved husband of Janice Macomber for 55 years, the brother of Charles and his wife Lois and Rachel Mara. Besides his wife Janice, Eddie is survived by his son, Christopher and his wife Lisa and his daughter Doreen and her husband Mark. Eddie was Poppy and Papa to his grandchildren Brianna and her husband Dc, Tyler, Lauryn and Alexandria and his great grandchildren, Kayden Edward and Audrey Rae.

Edward proudly served in the United States Army, and retired from the Acushnet Company, in the golfball division as a machinist.

Eddie was a patient man who always gave his time to help others. Eddie loved being with his family and cherished the time he spent taking care of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He could always be found driving his little truck everywhere.

The family would like to express their sincere graditude to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care in Rhode Island for the quality care during his illness.

Calling hours to which friends and family are respectfully invited to attend will be held on Thursday May 26, 2016 from 6 to 8pm at the South Coast Chapel Mortuary, 158 Middleboro Rd., East Freetown with a memorial service during that time. Private internment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.
