George Sylvia Obituary
George Joseph Sylvia, age 53 of 15 Penniman St. New Bedford, Ma. Passed away February 16th 2016 after a long illness. He was the son of the late Betty Lou Martin -Sylvia and the brother of the late Lisa Jean Sylvia. And the step brother of the late Angelina St. Pierre.
He was born in New Bedford, Ma. on July 11th. 1962 and worked as a Commercial Fisherman until his retirement in 2000. He was also a very loving and caring Dad to his pet Shiatsu, Dusty who passed 6 months earlier at the age of 14.
George is survived by his Father, George Sylvia of Fairhaven, Ma., His brothers Michael W. Sylvia of New Bedford, Ma. and Paul Sylvia of Las Vegas Nevada, his sisters, Laura Marie Sylvia-Lourde of Seattle Washington, Connie Lynn Sylvia-Rogerson of New Bedford, Ma. and step sister Rita Moniz-St.Pierre of New Bedford, Ma. along with many nieces and nephews.
He was well known, loved dearly and will be missed by many. Private services will be held by the family.
