Geraldine Branco 85, of East Freetown passed away on Saturday January 18, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford.
She was the beloved wife of the late John W. Branco. Born in East Freetown, Ma she was the daughter of the late Alfred Vasconcellos and the late Eva (Gonsalves) Vasconcellos.
Geraldine is survived by her two children: Gregory S. Branco of East Freetown and Dwayne Branco also of East Freetown. She was predeceased by her other two children: the late David Branco and the late Lorraine (Branco) Todd.
Geraldine is survived by her two siblings: Lydia Dias of Rochester and Natalie Costa of East Freetown. She was predeceased by her other two brothers the late William Vasconcellos and the late Alfred Vasconcellos. Geraldine was also the proud grandmother of her 10 grandchildren and her 10 great grandchildren.
Geraldine worked since she was 16 years old as the secretary at the Calvary Pentecostal Church in East Freetown. She also was head of the Woman's Ministry there. She also worked for years as the head clerk for the Dept of Social Services. Geraldine loved her family and her church.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend, her wake with Visitation that will be held at South Coast Chapel Mortuary, 158 Middleboro Road (RT 18) East Freetown, Ma 02717 on Thursday January 23, from 4pm to 7pm. Followed the next day Friday January 24, 2025 with her Funeral Service at 11:00am at the Calvary Pentecostal Church, 33 Braley Road, East Freetown, Ma, Those attending her funeral are kindly asked to go directly to the church. Followed by procession to her burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, 1100 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, Ma.
