Gertrude L. Aubut, 84, of New Bedford, Ma passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was the beloved wife of Alfred Joseph Aubut, Sr.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late, William Hebert and Aline (Langlois) Hebert.
Gertrude was the loving mother of 5 children, two sons; Alfred J. Aubut, Jr. and his wife, Maria of New Bedford, David J. Aubut and his wife, Luizette of New Bedford and three daughters; Jacqueline M. Redfern and her husband Stephen of Dartmouth, Diane M. Oliver and her husband Thomas of New Bedford and Christine M. Rodriques and her husband Robert of New Bedford. Gertrude is survived by her siblings, two brothers; Wilfred Hebert of New Bedford and Albert Hebert of California and she is predeceased by her brothers the late, Pierre Hebert, Henry Hebert, Marcel Hebert and Raymond Hebert., and she is survived by her sister,Theresa Robitaille of North Carolina. Gertrude was also the proud grandmother of her 9 grandchildren and her 6 great grandchildren.
Gertrude worked for years as a teacher's aide at New Bedford public Schools, she loved all children, and especially her own children and grandchildren. She was an awesome cook and made the best ever meat pie, and Gertude was an avid camper.
Calling hours to which both friends and relatives are invited to attend will be on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 6pm to 8 pm at mfcs llc South Coast Chapel, located on 158 Middleboro Road (Rt. 18) East Freetown, Ma. 02717. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Bernard's Church , located on South Main Street in Assonet, Ma with procession to follow to burial in Acushnet Cemetery, Main Street, Acushnet, MA.
