Gertrude Singleton, 89 of East Freetown passed away on Wednesday October 23, 2019.
She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Singleton.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Santos and the late Honora Ruth (Del Forgue) Santos.
Gertrude is survived by her children, her son, Richard Singleton of Freetown and her daughter; Karen Cardoza and her husband Charlie of East Taunton. Gertrude was predeceased by her brother, the late Manuel A. Santos and she is survived by her other siblings; William E, Santos of New Bedford, Francis L. Santos of Marston's Mills, James H. Santos of Freetown and Thelma D. Rogers of Rochester. Gertrude was also the proud grandmother of her three grandchildren and her three great grandchildren.
Gertrude was a retired LPN and bus driver, she was also a member of the Freetown Council on Aging, and the past President of Military Order of Cootie Auxillary, and she was a member of St. John Neumann Parish and she loved her church. She enjoyed playing cards, crafts and painting.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at South Coast Chapel Mortuary,158 Middleboro Road (RT.18) East Freetown, Ma. on Wed Oct. 30, 2019 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John Neumann Church following the gathering at 10:00 am and burial to follow in White's Cemetery.
