Jacqueline R. Keough 83 of East Freetown, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away on November 7, 2025, at Care One in New Bedford, Ma. surrounded by her loving family.
She was the beloved wife for 61 years to Laurence J. Keough.
Born in Milton, Ma she was the daughter of the late Frances (Frankie) Ruane and the late Ruth (Bilideau) Ruane.
Besides her loving husband Larry, she is survived by her two daughters- Kim Keough and her husband Steve, and Kristen Tierney, and she also was the proud grandmother of her two grandsons Colin and Jeremy.
Jackie met the love of her life-Larry in College at UMass Amherst where they hit it off right away-love at first sight. Jackie obtained a BS in political Science and was a constant learner. Jackie and Larry celebrated 61 anniversary this year. Jackie and Larry's marriage and relationship was an example of what true love is to many and they gave sound advice /recommendations to many on what marriage is to those who asked, and their marriage came naturally they were one as well as individuals. When you met Jackie, you had an instant connection and sense of calmness. Jackie had the gift of gab-sharing stories, her knowledge and advice was an awesome listener. An avid lifelong reader, she shared a special bond with her youngest grandson through their mutual love of books-they would often read the same series and spend hours discussing plot twists, favorite characters, and the stories that captured their imaginations. Her oldest grandson inherited his grandparent's passionate love of sports, a legacy that brought them countless hours of joy together.
Jackie was an avid sports fan of the Patriot's, Alabama college football, Red Sox's and Celtics. Jackie liked music from Billy Joel, Elton John, Yoyo Ma, the Beatles, Elvis Presley, Boston Pops, Cat's, and Phantom of the Opera. Jackie liked going to church with Larry. Jackie loved her Kindle. Jackie found peace and comfort on Long Pond since the age of 16 when her parents bought a cottage and would go there on weekends and summers. Jackie was a tour guide in Boston as she grew up there, and she shared on her guides, extra Boston History. Jackie was an avid photographer, gardener, artist and reader. Jackie's competitive spirit was legendary among family and friends alike. Her sharp mind served her well-she played to win, whether monopoly or Domino's. Her weekly domino games with friends were a cherished ritual, and her absence will be deeply felt around those tables where strategy met friendship and laughter. Jackie's love for her family and friends knew no bounds, and the countless lives she touched will forever bear the imprint of her kindness, her sharp mind and her generous spirit.
Jackie will be missed, and her memories/Legacy will live on forever in our hearts.
