James W. Longworth 78, of East Freetown passed away on September 19, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford.
He was the devoted and loving companion and partner for 27 years of Diane Balestracci. James was born in Wareham, Ma the son of the late Luther James Longworth and the late Grace Alice (Neville) Longworth.
James was the loving father of his children; Michael Longworth of Hawaii and the late Christopher J. Longworth. He was also the stepfather of Bonnie Tinker and her husband Timothy of Billerica. James is also survived by his partner Diane's children; Tammy of S Deerfield and Louie and his wife Mary of Norwell and their 5 children; Emma, Mathew, Grace, Tyler and Michael. Jim was predeceased by one of his siblings, the late Nancy McCrillis and he is survived by his sister; Elizabeth Bessey of New Bedford. James was also the proud grandfather to Kyle Longworth and his step grans; Rhia-Ann and Amanda.
Jim worked for years as a self employed carpenter. He was very happy doing yard work, and he also loved cutting trees and getting rid of stumps,he also liked to work out at the gym. But mostly Jim was an all around family guy.
A celebration of life will be held for Jim, by his family at a later date.
