Jane D. (Townsend) DeChambeau, 72, of East Freetown died unexpectedly Sunday, October 9, 2022, in New Port Richey, FL, with her husband and two children at her side after a brief illness.
She was a daughter of the late Robert D. and Eleanor D. (White) Townsend and had resided in East Freetown since 1959. She was a graduate of Apponequet Regional Highschool, class of 1967 and UMass Amherst, class of 1971 with a degree in Teaching. Prior to her retirement in 2007, she spent 34 years teaching home economics and 8th grade history at George R. Austin Middle School in Lakeville, MA. She enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening, crafts with her sisters, being frugal, and playing golf with her husband, Jim.
She is survived by her husband, Jim DeChambeau, of East Freetown, MA, and New Port Richey, Florida, and two children, daughter, Jennifer Zuanich, of Seattle, Washington, and son, Moe DeChambeau, of East Freetown; four grandchildren, Caroline DeChambeau, Ethan Zuanich, James DeChambeau and Nathan DeChambeau, and many nieces and nephews.
