Jeffrey Norman Lainey, 55, of New Bedford, passed away suddenly on January 7, 2015.
He was the beloved husband of the love of his life, Marie (Malloy) Lainey.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late George Lainey and Doris (Bourgueois) Lainey. Jeffrey was also the proud stepfather of his step son, Anthony Correia of New Bedford and his step daughter, Martha Marie Correia of Florida. Jeffrey is also survived by his siblings; two brothers, Paul Lainey of Fall River and Michael Lainey of New Bedford, and his three sisters; Susan(Lainey) Rezendes and her husband Michael of New Bedford, Caroline Lainey of New Bedford and Sharon Lainey. Jeffrey was also the dotting Step grandfather of 3 step grandchildren; Anthony David Rezendes, Tyler Douglas Correia and Celeste Marie Bowan, and he is survived by his loving godson, Michael Lainey and several nieces and nephews.
Jeffrey graduated from Fairhaven High School, then he proudly served his country during the Grenada war in the United States Marine Corp. and in his career, he was a self employed woodworker and remodeler, and could fix and repair all in wood. He also was an avid sports fan, all of them, but especially football and he loved the New York Giants as his father did.
He was a very kind and good person and will be missed by those who knew him.
Per Jeffrey's wishes, his funeral arrangements are private.
