John V. Carvalho, Jr.

John Victor Carvalho age 93, formerly of New Bedford MA passed away in Assonet MA, on August 18th, 2022 in his daughter home, where he lived since 2009. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, with his daughter by his side.

He was a Tool and Dye Maker, at the Continental Screw Company in New Bedford and Stillwater in Freetown MA. Outside of making precision tools at work, he was very talented at carpentry, gardening and fixing up old cars. He was a very kind, and patient man who has always been there for family. His saying was “if you don’t use it you lose it”, and that was how he lived his life.

John was the son of late Ester Carvalho (Jardin) and John Carvalho, brother to late Jimmy and James Carvalho. Husband of his late wife Adeline Carvalho. Father to Deborah Chadbourne, and Clifford Carvalho. Grandfather to his grandson, Shaun Chadbourne, his girlfriend Solange Oliveira, and grandfather to Nicole Oksanish, and her husband Cean Oksanish. John is also survived by his sister-in-law Else and son-in-law James, and he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
