John Ross Laronda

John Ross Laronda, 28, of 600 Riverview Drive, Altavista died, as the result of a recent stroke, Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

He was born July 26, 1988 in New Bedford, MA, the loving son of John Laronda, Jr. and Tracey M. M. Therrien Laronda of East Freetown, MA. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Captain of the Altavista Fire Company, and the Topman at Perkin's Twin Tire of Altavista. John graduated from the American Firefighters Association with a firefighter II certification and he was an EMT.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his twin brother, Shaun Laronda of East Freetown, MA; two sisters, Monica Laronda, PhD and her husband, Aaron Brown of Chicago, IL and Melanie Laronda and her husband, Brian McAndrew of Williamsburg; and his maternal grandmother, Marion Therrien of North Dartmouth, MA.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bernadette and John Laronda, Sr.; and maternal grandfather, Arthur Therrien.

A Chapel Service of the Resurrection will be conducted at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Lynchburg by the Rev. Msgr. Michael McCarron.

The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church.

The family invites friends and family for food and fellowship at the Altavista Fire Company beginning at 5:00 p.m., Saturday.

Services for Massachusetts will be Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Road, East Freetown, Ma 02717 visitation from 8:30 am to 11:30 am in the Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial for 12:00 noon. After  the mass, the family invites both family and friends to join them for the coalition on the Church grounds.
