Jonathan George-Lawrence Sylvia, 31, passed away Friday March 4 unexpectedly at his Dartmouth home. Over the past year he had been fighting an ongoing battle with cancer. Jonathan also had other demons that he had been fighting for many years.
He was the beloved son of Dawn & Scott Pacheco of Dartmouth, and Gregory and Cheryl Sylvia of Freetown. He is survived by his paternal grandmother Violet Sylvia of Freetown. He is also survived by his two brothers Gregory Sylvia of Freetown and Scott Sylvia of New Bedford, and one sister Jessica Soares of New Bedford. He had several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Jennifer Foley was a special person to Jonathan who cared dearly about him.
Jonathan enjoyed music and cars, and had a passion for pit bulls. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jonathan was the type of person who could convince anyone that the sky was purple. He always had a story to tell that would make anyone laugh. Jonathan didn’t have an easy life, but lived his life to the fullest. He lived more of a life in thirty years than most do in a hundred. If there was fun to be had he was there. Through all of his flaws he had a heart of gold, and a smile that would light up a room. He will be terribly missed by all, and we truly hope he knew how loved he was. We also want to wish Jonathan a Happy Birthday (3/13/1985).
The family invites anyone who would like to say their final goodbyes to please attend, his Calling hours will be held at South Coast Chapel Mortuary, 158 Middleboro Rd.(RT.18) East Freetown, Ma on Thursday March 10, 2016 from 4pm to 8pm with a Eulogy planned for 6pm. Per Jonathan’s request a cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.
