Obituary
Laura M. Baptiste 89, of East Freetown passed away peacefully on August 1, 2023.
She was the beloved wife of the late Maurice Baptiste, Sr.
Born in New Bedford she was the daughter of the late Boaventura Barboza and Laura (Perry) Barboza.
Laura is survived by her daughter; Maureen Gail Munoz and her husband Jaime of East Freetown and her niece; Marilyn Ortiz of New Bedford. Laura was predecesed by her 2 sons; the late Maurice Baptiste, Jr. and the late Julius "Rico" Baptiste. She was also predeceased by her 5 brothers and her 2 sisters.
Laura is also the proud grandmother of her 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 8 great, great grandchildren, and she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Laura was the sweetest, kindest, person, who loved to help out, those she could. She truly loved being a wife, a mother and a grandmother. She also had a fond spot in her heart for her cat "Foxie" whom she adored.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Laura's gathering on August 17, 2023 from 3pm to 5pm with a Memorial Service at 4:30 pm. To be held at South Coast Chapel Mortuary, 158 Middleboro Rd (Rt18) East Freetown, MA 02717
