LeRoy Joseph Bowman 86, of Fairhaven Massachusetts passed away on January 17, 2024 in Fairhaven.
He was born on August 3, 1937, in New Bedford Ma.
LeRoy is survived by his daughter Karen Jackson, his sons Timothy and Mark, granddaughter Jillian and her husband Bradford Krieger, a great granddaughter Annie Louise Krieger.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Lacerda) Bowman.
LeRoy served in the National Guard and briefly in the Merchant Marines. Throughout his career, LeRoy worked at Pratt and Whitney in Hartford Connecticut, as well as in machine maintenance at the New Bedford Standard Times. He later became a mobile maintenance technician for Interstate and Merit Oil, covering the areas of Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. LeRoy belonged to the Good Shepherd church in Fairhaven where he was a member of the vestry. He found solace and community through his faith. In his free time he enjoyed various hobbies. He had a passion for antique cars, model trains, metal detecting, woodworking and playing cards.
A family service will be held at a later date.
South Coast Chapel Mortuary in East Freetown has assisted the family with arrangements.
LeRoy will be dearly missed. May he Rest In Peace.
