Marie A. (Blaszczak) Normand

Marie (Blaszczak) Normand, 83, a long-time resident of Rochester Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on January 9,2024.

Marie graduated from New Bedford High School in 1959, working as a bank teller in New Bedford until taking time off to raise a family. She later returned to the work force, changing career direction and went to work as a Medical Assistant for Dr. Costa/Dr. Nahigyan’s medical practice in Mattapoisett for many years until her retirement. She loved to cook. She was often found thumbing through cookbooks looking for the next meal to prepare for her family. She was a reading enthusiast with a passion to dream. But Marie’s greatest joy was spending time with her loving family.

Marie leaves behind her four children: son, Thomas Normand and his wife Natalie of Fairhaven, daughter, Carol (Burnes, Normand) Billings and her husband Scott of Hanson, son, Peter Normand and his wife Sherry of Rochester, and son, Paul Normand and his wife Carolyn of Plymouth, as well as her grandchildren Matthew Burnes, Cassie Flanders, Andrew Normand, Elisa Normand, and Erik Normand.

Maries’s remains will be buried on a future date at which time a small private graveside service will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Bedford.
