Michael Floyd Bristow, Sr., 69, passed away July 24, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford.
Michael was born in Harrisburg, Illinois, the son of the late Floyd Bristow and Eulala (Owen) Bristow, both of Illinois. He is survived by his daughter Annette J. Brouillette of New Bedford and his three sons, Michael F. Bristow, Jr., and his wife Laurel of Fairhaven, Richard W. Bristow and his wife Lisa of New Bedford, and Phillip R. Bristow and his wife Tracy of Wareham and his brother, Marty Bristow and his wife Sharon of Illinois. Michael was also the proud grandfather of 4 grandchildren, Kyle and Taylor Brouillette of New Bedford., and Kayla and Krystal Cabral of Fairhaven. Michael is also survived by 2 nephews, Lance Bristow and his wife Rebecca of Illinois and Marty Bristow of Arizona.
Michael lived in Illinois where he served as a Police Officer for 12 years before moving to New Bedford, where he worked for years at the Sunbeam Bakery, in shipping and receiving.
He is a veteran and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Michael loved baseball and was quite fond of his St. Louis Cardinals. He also enjoyed soccer, and was a Patriots fan.
His funeral arrangements are to include, Military Honors with burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, in Bourne, MA, at 9:45 am on Thursday, July 31, 2014.
