Michael R. DesRoches

Michael R. DesRoches 80, of New Bedford passed away on March 4, 2025.

Born in Oak Bluffs, he was the son of the late Manuel Maciel and the late Mazie Maciel. He was also the adopted son of Gideon N. DesRoches and Lillian E. DesRoches.

Michael is survived by his son; Kevin DesRoches of Cambridge and was predeceased by his other son the late Richard DesRoches. He is also survived by his stepdaughter Debra Loranger of New Bedord, and by his siblings; Marc DesRoches of S. Carolina, Steven DesRoches of Florida, Marilyn Makin and her husband Russel of Fairhaven and Sarah Costa and her husband William of Maine. Michael was also the proud grandfather of his two grandchildren Jake and Maggie both of Marion.

Michael enjoyed playing cards especially cribbage and rummy. He loved to go for walks around Fort Phoenix and he also liked to dabble on the computer, playing pool on the internet.

Michael's Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday March 11, 2025 at 11am, at St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Road, East Freetown, Ma 02717. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
