Phyllis B. Corriveau
Phyllis B. Corriveau, 83 years young of East Freetown passed away on Monday, February 12,2024 at Saint Anne’s hospital peacefully and lovingly. She was the adored wife of Donald G Corriveau for 49 years.
Born in Fairhaven she was the daughter to the late Philip and Veronica (Chodkowski) DeBlois. She graduated Fairhaven High school in 1958 and was known for her dimples and achievements in sewing club.
For a brief period, she worked at Rogers Ice Cream shop where she met the love of her life, Donald laughing over his sundae order and multiple requests for a first date. The two were married on June 18,1966 in celebration with their closest friends and family at St. Mary’s Church. They enjoyed dates to Lincoln Park, swing dancing, spending time with friends and yearly trips to Florida.
She later worked at the Acushnet Process Company as a secretary before transitioning to her exceptional role as a housewife and stay at home mom. Phyllis enjoyed knitting, baking her famous carrot cake and banana breads, chocolatier, sewing, camping, yoga, ceramics, volunteering and never forgetting to mail out a card for any occasion to loved ones. Her greatest joy was spending time with Cully and their friends and holiday celebrations with her family. She was a proud and devoted communist of St. John Neumann Church.
Phyllis had the biggest heart with glistening blue eyes and a vibrant smile. She was known for her thoughtfulness and selfless qualities. She could be found yearly at the Robinson Estate Yard Sale, a member of the Red Hatters Club, the Senior Center and the Lakeside Festival.
In her final days she was showered and surrounded with love, laughter and endless smiles from her closest friends and family.
Survivors include two daughters Monique Corriveau of East Freetown; Nicole Durocher and husband John of Eastham; four grandchildren Ashley Coutinho and significant other Steven Coutinho of Fairhaven, Zachary Sloane and wife Diona Sloane of Acushnet, Shaun and Katherine Durocher of Eastham; three great-grandchildren, Parker Coutinho of Fairhaven and Autumn and Dallas Sloane of Acushnet. She was the sister to the late Ernest DeBlois, Carolyn Sylvia and husband Joseph Sylvia of Fairhaven and Philip DeBlois Jr of Dennis.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Service and visitation on Thursday February 29, 2024, to be held at South Coast Chapel Mortuary, 158 Middleboro Road (Rt.18) East Freetown, Ma 02717 from 4pm to 6pm. Service will be held at St. John Neumann Church on March 1, 2024 at 11:00am. Burial immediately following will be private.
