Rachel Charbonneau Obituary

Rachel Marguerite Charbonneau
 March 6, 1941 – May 30, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rachel Marguerite Charbonneau, 84, of Acushnet, MA. Rachel passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 6, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Hector Joseph Langevin and Anita (Lemay) Langevin.

Rachel was the beloved wife of the late Robert Ernest Charbonneau, with whom she shared 47 years of love and companionship. She is survived by her two sons, Matthew Charbonneau, his wife Wendi, and John Charbonneau and his wife Cheryl, all of Acushnet. She also leaves behind her four grandsons, Jeffrey, Brett, Logan, and Kory, as well as her great-granddaughter Addison and great-grandsons Alden and Remington. Rachel is further survived by her two sisters, Jeannette Charron and her husband Marc of Ayer, MA, and Lillian Gonneville of Fairhaven, MA.

A dedicated professional, Rachel spent much of her career as the Executive Secretary at Titleist before retiring and working in the town clerks office in the town of Acushnet. Retirement allowed Rachel to pursue her passions, which included traveling, making stained glass art, and spending quality time with her family. She loved breakfasts with her girlfriends, taking her grandsons out for pizza and movies, and enjoying the simple pleasures of summer by her pool. Later in life, Rachel enjoyed leisurely Sunday drives and was known for her love of reading, classic westerns, and watching her favorite TV show, Chicago Fire.

Rachel also gave generously of her time, volunteering with the local Lions Club, where she assisted with fundraising and event planning. Her kindness and dedication to others were reflected in every aspect of her life.

Rachel’s warmth and generosity were felt by all who knew her. Though she didn’t often cook, she was famous for her delicious potato salad and homemade chili. A communicant of Saint John Neumann Church in Freetown, Rachel’s legacy lives on in the love and laughter of her family, the many lives she touched through her community work, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 19, 2025 at 10 am, at St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Road (RT.18) East Freetown, Ma 02717. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
