Rachel (Breault) Constant

Rachel (Breault) Constant, of New Bedford passed away peacefully at home on October 9, 2022, with her loved ones by her side.  She was the beloved wife of 60 years to Joseph “Bob “ Constant.

She was born on December 2, 1942 to the late Armand and Jeanne (Hevey) Breault.  She resided in Fairhaven until moving to New Bedford after she was married. 

In addition to her husband Bob, Rachel is survived by her 3 children,  Michael Constant of New Bedford, Monique Deneault and her husband David of Acushnet and Mark Constant of Fairhaven.  Rachel was also the proud Memere to Brandon Deneault and his wife Lindsey, Courtney Deneault, Dakota Constant, Jacob Constant and Jillian Constant.  Her pride and joy were her 2 great-grandchildren, Julia and Benjamin Deneault.  She was predeceased in death by her siblings Annette Niles and Robert Breault.

Rachel worked at CP Bourg in New Bedford until she left to pursue a career as a home health aide, a job she truly loved.  She enjoyed baking and sharing her treats with family and friends.  You could always find her at home, or waiting at an appointment, doing a Search-a-Word book.

Rachel was very active in her parish, St John Neumann church in East Freetown.  She was involved with the St Vincent’s De Paul society, was a eucharistic minister and coordinated the prayer line just to name few of the many contributions she made to her parish.  She was very strong in her faith and that was shown in how she lived her daily life.  She will be missed by many who knew her.

We would like to thank Dr. Sophia Rizk and the staff at Southcoast Health Cancer Center in Fairhaven as well as the Southcoast VNA for the care and compassion they showed Rachel as she fought her battle.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral services to be held at St John Neumann Parish at 157 Middleboro Road East Freetown 02717 on Friday, October 28, 2022 starting with a receiving line at 9:15 am followed by a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am.  Burial will be private.
