Raymond Paradis Obituary

Acushnet - Raymond H. Paradis, aged 79, died at home with his daughter and son-in-law by his side on January 8, 2018. He was born in New Bedford, son of the late Albert and Irene (Dulude) Paradis, and lived most of his life in New Bedford. He served in the Air Force and was a staunch supporter of the Disabled American Veterans. He was never without his U.S. Air Force Veteran’s hat, which he proudly wore every day. He was employed for 25 years as the warehouse manager at J.J. Taylor Distributing Co. in Dartmouth, MA before his retirement. His passion in life was baseball. He was a diehard Red Sox fan and accumulated an extensive collection of Red Sox memorabilia, his prized possession-an autographed Ted Williams baseball. He played and coached for many years with the Black Sox men’s softball team, and was very proud that his team were League champions from 1993-1996, 2000-2001, and 2005-2010.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Pauline (Blanchard) Paradis of Brooksville, FL, his 3 daughters Donna (Dana) Theodore of Acushnet, MA, Doreen (Charles) Mudd of Weeki Wachee, FL, and Karen (David) Croffut of Spring Hill, FL; 3 grandaughters Alyssa (Efrain) Martinez of New Bedford, MA, Kristen Croffut of Spring Hill, FL, and Alexa Theodore of Springfield, MA; 2 great-grandsons Jullian and Kylo Martinez of New Bedford, MA.; his brother Leo Paradis (Gloria) of Cocoa, FL. He was the brother of the late Roland Paradis and Lucille Paradis.  The family would like to especially thank Maria and Mike for the wonderful care they provided Ray.

A Mass with his cremains will be held at St. Joseph St. Therese Church on Saturday February 3, 2018 at 10am. Burial will be private.
