Raymond J. Sylvia

Raymond J. Sylvia beloved and devoted husband of Dolores Sylvia, passed peacefully at home after an extended illness. Survived by his children; daughter, Anne and husband Gerald Lynch of Rochester, MA; daughter Julie and husband James Oliveira of New Bedford, MA and son Dave and wife Kimberly Sylvia of Fairhaven, MA. He leaves behind seven grandchildren, Bethany Meehan, Matthew Lynch, Sarah Lynch, Brenden Sylvia, Makenzie Sylvia, Rylee Sylvia & Lilly Oliveira, four great grandchildren Abigail, Molly & Emma Meehan, & Kylie Sylvia and his sister Irene DaCosta.

Ray proudly served in the United States Army.

He will be remembered for his love of his family, strong work ethic and his sense of humor. Next time you’re at a parade think of him.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Master Peace and the Community Nurse and Hospice Care for their compassion and care during his illness.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you do something special for you in his memory.

Per his families wishes Raymond's funeral services will be private.
