Ronald J. Dupont, 91, of New Bedford passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of the late Hazel G. Dupont.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Joseph I. Dupont and Florida (Brosseau) Dupont.
He was the loving father of Gail A. Carignan and her husband Dennis of New Bedford, Donna M Costa and her husband Joseph of Rochester and Anne Marie Carreiro and her husband Mario of Fairhaven. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Adam Carreiro and his wife Kate, Lori Costa, Lisa Costa, Eric Carreiro and Amanda Carreiro. He also had one great-granddaughter, Bridget Carreiro. Ronald had one sister, Florida Cormier of New Bedford and several nieces and nephews.
Ronald served in both Korea and World War II and 30 years as an Army Reservist. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Korea War Veterans Association Chapter 299, and Acushnet Company Retirees Club. He was a recipient of the Marion Medal from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fall River. Ron enjoyed roller skating and bowling with his family.
He retired from Acushnet Company as a Curing Technician, Rubber Division, and he was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in New Bedford.

His Memorial Mass to which friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford, MA.
