Sylvia was the daughter of the late Herbert and Doris (Suffern) Howland. She was born at home in Fairhaven during the famous September 21, “38” hurricane. She graduated from Fairhaven High School in “56” and Kinyon Campbell School.
She loved camping and after her husband retired they spent 16 years traveling across the United States and Canada in their RV. In 2008 they stopped traveling and set up camp in Maine for the last 11 years.
She is survived by her husband Robert of almost 62 years, her son Darryl (Linda) of Rochester and her daughter Lori (Robert) Corriea Jr. of Acushnet, her grandchildren Nicole, Christine, Douglas and Kathleen.
She is also survived by her brother Dana (Carol) Howland of Fairhaven and nephew Todd of New Bedford.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Elliott Anderson and his team and to the SouthCoast VNA.
