Sylvia Theodore Obituary
Sylvia A. Theodore 74, of West Wareham passed away peacefully, at her home on Saturday March 27, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Roberto Theodore, Sr.
Born in Acushnet, Ma , Sylvia was the daughter of the late Joseph Nunes and the late Maria (Morris) Nunes.
Sylvia was predeceased by her son, the late Roberto Theodore, Jr. and she is survived by her daughter; Tracey Allen and her husband Marshal of Acushnet.
Sylvia was one of 19 brothers and sisters; she is survived by her brothers; George Nunes and his wife Betty of New Bedford, Robert Nunes and his wife Caramel also of New Bedford. And Sylvia was predeceased by 4 of her brothers; the late Joseph Nunes, the late Thomas Nunes, the late Raymond Nunes and the late Arthur Nunes. Sylvia is survived by her sisters; Barbara Jerome and her husband Red of New Bedford, Patricia Brennan and her husband Jack of East Freetown, Evelyn Nadeau of New Bedford, Jeannie Francis and her husband Robert also of New Bedford, Pauline Leonardo and her life partner Randy of Acushnet, and Linda Cabral and her husband Wayne of New Bedford and she was predeceased by her sister the late Margaret Tomms. Sylvia was also the proud grandmother of her 5 grandchildren; Joshua, Nicholas, Jillian, Kelsie and Tammy and her 9 great grandchildren; Maddyn, Liam, Makenna, Kyla, Kylie, Brianna, Scarlet, Ryder and Bryson.
Sylvia worked for years as a cook at the nephews restaurant in East Freetown, prior to that she worked at numerous fisheries on the New Bedford waterfront; Pilgrim and Bergies Seafood, to name a few.
Sylvia loved to play cards with her sisters, she also loved to play the slots, and she was the Bingo Caller for the Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church in New Bedford. She was an avid fan of " Mickey Mouse " she especially was the happiest when surrounded by her loving family and all of her grandchildren.
A Memorial gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday April 10, 2021 from 2:30p to 3:30p to be held at South Coast Chapel Mortuary, 158 Middleboro Rd (RT.18) East Freetown, Ma.
A Memorial Mass will be on Sunday April 11, 2021 at 10:00am to be held at (OLPH) Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 235 North Front Street, New Bedford, Ma. 02746. Family and Friends are respectfully invited to attend, both the gathering and the Memorial Mass, please wear facial coverings and observe social distancing.
