Tobias F. Demelo

Tobias F. Demelo, age 60, of New Bedford, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Cynthia (Aguiar) Demelo whom he shared 35 years of marriage.

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, a son of the late Miguel and Cecilia Demelo, he immigrated to the United States in his early teens.

Toby will be missed by his wife and his daughters; Jennifer (Demelo) Cabral and her husband Paulo; Stefanie (Demelo) Machado and her husband Hilario; his beloved granddaughter Julia Cabral; his dear mother - in - law, Lorraine Aguiar; seven siblings, Maria Oliveira, Duarte Demelo, Jose Demelo, Jorge Demelo, Lucia Demelo, Margarida Pacheco, and Alcina Demelo; godchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Toby was a hoisting engineer and enjoyed working. He was an avid racquet ball player, enjoyed running, cycling, gardening, martial arts, and mostly spending time with family and friends.
