Vasco T. Monte 85, of South Dartmouth passed away peacefully, at his home on Monday May 3, 2021.
He was the beloved husband of Maria Teresa (Dias) Monte.
Born in Azores, Portugal he was the son of the late Manuel Monte and the late Maria Jose (Travassos) Monte.
Vasco is survived by his children; Verissimo Manuel Monte of South Datmouth, Nancy Dias Monte also of South Dartmouth and Patricia Dias Monte of Fall River. Vasco is survived by his siblings; Isabel Camara of Fall River and Jullietta Carvalho also of Fall River. He was predeceased by his other siblings; the late Gabriel Travassos, the late Manuel Travassos, the late Gloria Medeiros, and the late Honorina Medeiros. Vasco was also the proud grandfather of his 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Vasco worked for years in construction, for Reynolds Brothers in Canton. He liked to play cards at clubs, and he belonged to the Mount P Club. He also enjoyed watching soccer on TV, and he raised parakeets and canaries.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the South Coast Chapel Mortuary, 158 Middleboro Road, (RT18) East Freetown, Ma 02717 on Friday May 14, 2021 from 5pm to 7pm. His memorial service will be at 6pm. Those who attend the gathering, should kindly wear a facial covering and be mindful of social distancing.
