Wayne D. Harris 84, of Acushnet passed away August 30, 2020 at Autumn Glen in Dartmouth.
He was the beloved husband of the late Lucille Marie (Hansmann) Harris.
Born in New Bedford he was the son of the late William John Harris and the late Florence (Counsel) Harris.
Wayne is survived by his children; his two sons; David Harris of Northbridge, Ma and Douglas Harris and his wife Robin of East Freetown. He is survived by his sister Daune Haskell and her husband Wayne of Hanson and he was predeceased by his brother the late William Harris. Wayne was also the proud granfather to his 3 grandchildren; Leigh Zimmer, Eryn Harris and Asher Harris and his five great grandchildren; Liam Zimmer, Greyson Zimmer, Nash Zimmer, Graham Zimmer and Sloan Hansmann. A special thanks for all her help, goes to to a dear and amazing friend and caregiver; Nancy Correira of Acushnet.
Wayne was a veteran of the United States Army and served his Country proudly. He and his wife Lucille loved square dancing, skiing, and traveling to 16 Countries including the Serenghetti in Africa.
Due to Covid-19 guidelines, his funeral service will be private.
