William B. Collins 86, of East Freetown passed away on July 13, 2022 In Pennsylvainia.
He was the beloved husband for 64 years to Marilyn M. (Rezendes) Collins.
Born In New Bedford, Ma he was the son of the late Joseph A. Collins and the late Alice E. (Wallbank) Collins.
William is survived by his loving wife, and his children; Kevin James Collins of Singapore, and Doreen Dixon and her husband Carl of Pennsylvania, and his sister Aida Haskel of Florida and his 5 grandchildren; Jonathan, Jenna, Cameron, Elizabeth and Emily and his great grandchildren 6.5; Liam, Clara, Mira, Jacob, Lorelai, Ryland and 1 pending.
William was predeceased by his son, the late Brian William Collins, and his siblings, his 5 sisters and his brother.
William was an educator with a Master's degree and he worked for many years as Dean of admission at Massasoit College and many other Colleges. He served his country proudly in the Army National Guard. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He was a great husband, father, father in-law, and proud grandpa. He also was very proud of his Irish heritage and did visit Ireland with his wife. He also really loved to eat seafood, especially Lobster.
His family and friends are respectfully invited to attend his services;
His wake with visitation will be on Tuesday July 19th from 6pm to 8pm at the South Coast Chapel Mortuary, 158 Middleboro Rd (RT18) East Freetown, Ma 02717. He will also have a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Rd. (Rt 18) East Freetown, Ma 02717 on Wednesday July 20, 2022 at 10 am . Those attending the Mass are kindly asked to go directly to the church. Followed by procession to St. Mary's Cemetery, Kempton Street, New Bedford, Ma 02740 for burial.
