Robert Alexander

Robert "Bob" Alexander 82, of Acushnet passed away Tuesday January 9, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford peacefully with his daughters by his side.

He was the beloved husband of the late Florence (Sylvia) Alexander.

Born in Fairhaven, Ma he was the son of the late Manuel Alexander and Rose (Silva) Alexander.

Bob is survived by his children; Robin Boyer and her husband Marc of Georgia, Donna Bastarache and her husband Marc of Acushnet, Kim Cousineau of Acushnet and her partner Paul Costa,Todd Sylvia of Fairhaven and his partner Michelle, and Ashlee Philabaum and her husband Paul of Florida. Bob is also survived by his brother Richard Alexander and his wife Yvonne of Acushnet and his sisters; Maryann Comeau and her husband Denis of New Bedford and Rosemary Szymanski and her husband Peter of N. Dartmouth and he is predeceased by his many other siblings. He was also the proud grandfather of his 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 8 grandpets, and is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Bob worked for years as a machinist at Revere Copper and Brass in New Bedford. He was also enlisted in the Army Reserves. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, crabbing, camping, playing cards and horseshoes, and also used to like bowling. He was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan as well. But most importantly he loved the time spent with his children and grandchildren.

Bob's gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday January 13th, from 2pm to 4 pm, all are respectfully invited to attend. To be held at South Coast Chapel Mortuary, 158 Middleboro Rd (Rt. 18) East Freetown, Ma 02717.
